La Partida is an South American walz. This particular version is from from Venezuela. A similar version is played in Argentina, where it have been supplied with lyrics. We call ourselfs FourHands, Börje Sandquist and Mats Norrefalk. Börje Sandquist is playing a nylon string guitar (Hopf Portentosa) and Mats Norrefalk plays a soprano guitar (Esteve) tuned an octave higher than an ordinary guitar. This tune and others, for exemple Dansa o Indio Branco by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Chau Paris by Astor Piazzolla, Maxixe by Agustin Barrios are available on the label Vasco de Gama VDFCD-8005

Absolutely amazing, that pleasant harmonic build up leading to that spectacular ending, absolutely flawless. Congrats!

Please let me make a correction. "La partida" is a great song composed by Victor Jara. Here you are doing a beatiful versión of a Venezuelan walts called "Quiero ser tu sombra".

Excellent work!!! but in honor of the truth, "La partida/ Venezuelan waltz", as is its complete name, is not a version, it´s an original work. The versions are the ones that are interpret in the south of the continent. The authors of letter and music of this traditional Venezuelan waltz are , C. BONET and J.P. GUIRAN, both Venezuelan.

The setting as I remember it was one queena, two guitars, one requinto, maracas and bass. La Partida not only attracted me myself, but ev'rybodoy who was listening to it. As soon there was a fluteplayer around I had him/her to play La partida with me. I have used this tume since than and I never get tired of it. To me it has kept its vivid freshness through four decades!
