Measure for measure for my A levels, and out of everything in the play, I
remember that line. Here's where the audience actually gets to see that
Angelo isn't as cold as he seems.

This scene is played very well, by both actors. But the soliloquy is
lacking. Angelo's whole world and self-image is going to pieces here and I
don't see it in this portrayal. He's got the language but not enough of
what lies behind the words. This is a great shock and should be revealed as
