That was a remarkable development. It's a brilliantly simple mechanism compared to a Remington with it's piano key-like linkages. Appears to be something like a cross between a pantograph and a rack and pinion gear.

I wonder if your written vocabulary would change if you wrote on these enough. Choosing words with letters that are closer together on that grind/index rather than words what are much more spaced out on the grid.

Just like people who text message constantly. After weeks of use, day in and day out, I'd imagine someone would be quite proficient. It was actually reported that a savvy user could type nearly 10 words per minute faster than those who type on a QWERTY keyboard. *shrugs*
