Love the Animals, but I can do without the very unfunny host who apparently
thinks he is!!

I would agree that the mounted heads on the wall were creepy if they
weren't just so darned silly. But they are appropriate, even if in a really
cheesy sort of way. The song is about a man's intention to use rich women
for their money. To find women who "want to mother orphans" and "bleed them
dry." The suggestion seems to be that will done through emotional
manipulation. The mounted heads are trophies of his conquests. (Although
the woman behind the band doesn't quite seem to understand the imagery.)
All this is sung to his girlfriend whom he is telling this is the way it's
going to be; stick around and you'll reap the benefits too. A great fusing
of music, lyrics, and performance reflecting a very real type of man

I have listened to this song for almost 50 years now and it never gets old.
Along w/ gotta get out of this place, don't let me be misunderstood. Just
great music that has passed the test of time, will always sound like it did
the first time.

It can be seen now why Eric Burdon was such a great vocal influence in his
era. Many who came after him, cite him as an influence. Even Bruce
Springsteen has mentioned him as a great singer. Great power & presence.

Love it, Red Judy, thanks. The host is an actor whose name escapes me at
the moment, but he was hot in his day. Gotta love the wacky girl head on
the wall. So outré for its time!
