Thank you - even I am guilty of ignoring him for a couple of years!

I have to agree, no one does Rebikov very much nowadays. His composition style is much lighter than most and he does wonderful bass lines, so it's rather a pity.

Thanks for that. Rebikov's music is certainly similar in scale and economy of resources to Mompou's, but Mompou's music has a much 'rawer' feel to my ear.

I'd be glad to make you a CD of what I believe to be some of FEDERICO MOMPOU's works. Please let me know in email tot e YouTube channel. Thanks! hearing a handful is not convincing, since he wrote for different purposes as all the best composers. Some have heard his MUSICA COLLADAS and think thats all he did. There is SO MUCH MORE!

Wow, I just discovered Rebokov through this (and your other videos). Great! I must now go hear more! You wrote to another that 'as it is like nothing else.". I would beg to differ. Conceptually much of it is similar to MOMPOU whom you know I am a champion of! Thee are many MOMPOU videos here on youtube, I have some on my own channel (jaymusic143). May I suggest you check them out -- many surprises await you! . His music is far more diverse than some have thought, having less exposure.

That's an interesting observation. Rebikov liked to use obsessive repetition in his music - one of the 'modernist' features of his writing.

In Au Caucase there is a very surprising short melody only once (at 3.28) it's a beautiful break! Instead he used that short melody later again (perhaps in different form) he repeat IMO too much at the end (from 3.50to 4.34Anyway, I'm interested in Rebikov's musicthank you for all these unknown pieces!

Thanks for commenting on this one. No-one seems very interested in Rebikov's music, but I must record some more as it is like nothing else.
