getting to their bunker will be too late if nukes dropping

Great you have a bunker in the middle of an inhospitable desert. so when you need to get to if there is a fuel crisis you can walk through temperatures in excess of 110 degrees, and assuming you get to it and bunker down, when you run out of water or food you have little to no chance to survive let alone replenish supplies. real solid strategy

I would like to have one of those underground bunkers ... but at the same time I laugh at the rich who are the only ones who can afford it. They think that they are going to just cruise through some sort of cataclysmic aftermath when, in fact, they are going to be lost without their hired hands, butlers, maids, and secretaries. The food, water, and luxury is going to be finite. What are they going to do when it runs out? Crawl out of their holes and offer people worthless paper to serve them?

If videogames have taught me anything it's that you can't trust a commercial entity that builds communal nuclear fallout shelters. VIVOS=Vault Tech

There wasn't a better survival place within three hours of LA that isn't in a flipping dessert ? lol Good luck surviving in the dessert when your supplies run out.

How about this, use the $50,000 to make your own safe place so that you dont have to depend on other for your own safety. That is what i would do.
